Autism support for children in East Renfrewshire, Renfrewshire & North Ayrshire
A plain-English, sourced round-up of the council, NHS and charity services near you — most open without a diagnosis.
Start here — support is needs-led, not diagnosis-led
In Scotland, help for a child is provided according to their needs, not according to whether they have a diagnosis. That principle sits behind the Education (Additional Support for Learning) (Scotland) Act 2004, and it is why most of the services below welcome families who are still waiting for, or have chosen not to seek, a formal assessment. In 2024, 40.5% of pupils in Scotland (284,448 children) were recorded with additional support needs — you are far from alone. What you can do while waiting for an assessment →
